About the Dimension Editor Canvas

The dimension editor Canvas is where you work on the hierarchies, levels, secondary attributes, and secondary/snowflake relationships for a particular dimension.

To open a dimension in the Canvas:

In Design Center, open a model and switch to the Canvas tab.
Locate the dimension you want to view and select Edit from its context menu. The dimension opens in a separate tab in Design Center.
Click the Canvas tab for the dimension.

The Canvas shows the physical datasets that the logical dimension is based on. It shows the model from the focal point of a single dimension, whereas the main canvas shows the model from the focal point of the fact dataset.
