Excluding Specific Attributes from Aggregates

As of AtScale version 2020.2.0, there are new settings that allow the user to manually exclude specific attributes from being used as grouping keys in aggregations. These settings can be applied to both level attributes and secondary dimensional attributes.

Exclude from System-Generated Dimension-Only Aggregates

This setting prevents the attribute from being used as a group-by column in a system-generated dimension-only aggregate. This is useful if the attribute contains a large number (e.g. millions) of distinct values, such that aggregation based on this attribute will be ineffective.

Exclude from System-Generated Fact-Based Aggregates

The AtScale engine excludes this attribute from being used as a group-by column in system-generated fact-based aggregates. Setting this option may be appropriate if the attribute contains a large number (e.g. millions) of distinct values, such that aggregation based on this attribute will be ineffective.
